Triennial Conference of the International Association for Word and Image Studies (IAWIS)

The Scottish Word and Image Group (SWIG) has successfully bid to host a prestigious international conference, which will bring several hundred world and image scholars and enthusiasts from the across the world to Dundee in 2014.

The Triennial Conference of the International Association for Word and Image Studies (IAWIS) has previously been held in venues such as Montreal, Philadelphia, Paris, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Zürich.

Dundee's conference theme, Riddles of Form: Exploration and Discovery in Word and Image, will examine the representation of science and technology in text, poetry, art, film, print and digital media.
